Hi Helen, my mother in Law suffered for 10 very long before this terrible illness robbed her of her life. It is possibly the worst illness I can imagine anybody suffering from, it affects the whole family and only now, 4 years after losing his mum, can Chris start to remember the good times and happy memories. I read a very moving memoir by David Suchet in the You magazine on Sunday, about his wife Bonnie, who suffered from it, it brought tears to my eyes, tragic.

ReplyDeleteDear Helen,
ReplyDeleteI'm Gonny from Holland and yes, my mother (81 years old) suffers this very cruel and upsetting desease for more than 10 years now. You loose her little by little and now she doesn't recognize me anymore. It's very very horrible.
Regards from Gonny
Hi Helen,
ReplyDeleteMy Gran, her sister and their Dad all suffered from dementia and my Grandpa had altzeimers. It's such a cruel disease. My Gran would have been just horrified if she seen herself that way and heard some of the things she said. So sad.
Kelly.
